Graphite and pastel on Bristol board, 17" x 15", 2025. 

I worked on this drawing on and off over a year. When you spend that kind of time on one drawing, you will make a cool-headed decision about the choice of processes and techniques. This drawing ended up being a graphite-pastel mixed media, and I am glad it did.

This piece is about openness that creates vulnerability and strength simultaneously. Being exposed sometimes could be used as a means of self-protection.
